My Philosophy

An appreciation of beauty, a feeling of joy, or even awe are a few ways a photograph can speak to the viewer. My goal is to create a two-dimensional picture that is memorable long after the event. Capturing the viewer’s attention is the first step. After that, the audience will surely want to read more and watch the video.

My Experience

My journey in the media was a rich experience — Royal tours, international breaking news, a space shuttle launch with Roberta Bondar, and local events such as TIFF, fashion, food, and sports. The Toronto Blue Jays at the White House? I was there! I spent time covering Grise Fiord, the northernmost community in Canada.

Thanks to my background, I know what images will draw attention and which are stock — that we have seen many times.

My career evolved from photography to videography and writing feature stories; often, it involved all three.

If I can capture the emotions of the moment on a two-dimensional page, I have done my job.
